The Omaha men’s soccer team made a statement Saturday afternoon as they beat top-ranked Denver in an electrifying OT shootout. The final score had longtime Omaha soccer fans in a frenzy. “This team has gone through so many ups and downs and to see them reach the summit, it was fulfilling ” said MavRadio Operations Manager Harrison Popp. Popp has called the Omaha men’s and women’s soccer games for Omavs and MavRadio this season. The Mavericks are set to receive an automatic berth in the 2017 NCAA tournament. Popp said it’s a thrill as a professional and a fan, “This is a special squad that the Maverick community will never forget.
